The English language has often been described as one of the most difficult to master because of its challenging grammatical and spelling rules.
Children who enjoy reading a range of books are often more likely to write effectively.
However, while your child may feel confident in their reading abilities, they may be unsure about how to infer meanings or express their ideas clearly in writing.
How can I help?
After diagnosing your child’s English skills based on their Year group, I will provide them with an engaging and structured learning programme, based on their strengths.
They will be given many opportunities to recapture their love of learning new words and phrases and enjoy using them for a range of different purposes.
They will also be able to increase their knowledge of the key spelling and grammatical rules based on their stage of learning.

During the Primary years, I aim to support children’s language development mainly in relation to themselves and developing their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Between the ages of 11 and 14, I provide many opportunities for students to extend their comprehension and written expression skills.
At GCSE level, I support students in building their critical thinking, analysis and composition skills, especially essay writing.
At this stage, many learners also benefit from developing their study and examination preparation skills.
