Maximising Learning Potential

Does your child lack confidence in solving Maths problems?

When students lack confidence in their ability to solve Maths problems, they can sometimes become distracted during lessons.  This may be because they are finding it difficult to keep up with the rapid pace of learning.

Often, students in Year 11 are disappointed with their mock exam results and begin to panic that they may not achieve their predicted grades.

This can be frustrating for them especially when they have a high ability in Maths and need to achieve a high grade to go onto further study.

How can I help your child?

I am committed to providing a high quality tuition service based on the specific learning needs of each student.

At the start, I assess their abilities in Maths in relation to the National Curriculum targets. Subsequently, I will design and deliver a personalised, structured learning programme where each student can progress at their own pace.

Your child will then be provided with a range of engaging activities to help them to extend their calculation and problem solving skills.

I can help students to fill in any gaps in their learning by providing a variety of opportunities for them to revisit some of the key Maths concepts and strategies.

I first contacted Tina when there were a lot of changes happening in my children’s school and I felt that they were getting lost in the system. My youngest daughter lacked confidence and would even clam up when asked the simplest maths question – as a result of Tina’s teaching, my daughter is now an outgoing student studying Maths at A Level.’
